McKeehen was dominant on his way to the biggest victory of his poker career; he held most of the chips once heads-up play began. Fellow Pennsylvania native Joshua Beckley  didn’t have the ammunition to make a go of it as McKeehen bulldozed his way to victory.

In July, 6,420 players each put up $10,000 for the right to play in this year’s Main Event. The final nine players returned to Rio Las Vegas on Sunday. McKeehen replaces Swedish star Martin Jacobson  as Main Event champion.

While all three finalists in 2014 were from Europe, this year’s Final Four was an All-American affair. Neil Blumenfield finished third. Israel’s Zvi Stern  was the highest-finishing non-American; he finished fifth.
