Josh Innes, a host on Philadelphia’s WIP, is apologizing after calling Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce a “house Negro” for his enthusiasm over the hiring of new coach Doug Pederson. The comment was made after Kelce showed up to Pederson’s first press conference, which Innes saw as Kelce being a suck-up.

Innes was inspired to make the remark after watching a particular scene from Spike Lee’s “Malcolm X."
After word of his comments spread, Innes tried to explain himself.
“I made a bad analogy, and for that, I apologize,” Innes said Tuesday afternoon. “It all came out poorly, and I see people are making fun of me all over the country, and you should make fun of me across the country — because I’m stupid.” While Innes apologized for his analogy, he didn’t apologize for the sentiment behind it. “I just think Jason Kelce is a lap dog, he’s a kiss-ass, wherever the coach is going to be," he said.
Whatever the reason, Kelce wasn’t too happy about it.
“It’s my job to ensure that I have my teammates and coaches back, no matter what, so that they can then trust me in return," he responded on Twitter.
