According to a recent report, there’s a chance that the studio may be getting ready to update one very important asset of Phasmophobia, namely the in-game journal. A screenshot taken from the game’s Discord server shows artist Corey J Dixon teasing a possible tweak to the ways in which players note down the ghost during an investigation. The comment posted with the image says that there will soon be a way to “eliminate those pesky ghosts” using the journal, and that the team has made some “extra room.”

For those who have not experienced the game, the journal is used to help identify the different ghost types that Phasmophobia has, using evidence and certain behaviors. Given what Dixon says, it sounds like players will be able to cross off any of the spirits they’re sure it can’t be. This could prove to be a handy little tweak. However, what is meant by adding the extra space in the journal remains to be seen. Whether this will be for extra information or room for players to enter something cannot be said at this stage.

Last month, there was also talk of Phasmophobia having its sound sensor updated to represent something that looks more like a studio microphone than the more simple white square that fans know of. In any case, it sounds like the people over at Kinetic Games are still hard at work, patching the game out with big fixes, new content, and an overhaul of some of the bigger aspects.

The last major update added cursed possessions to the game, which introduced a number of items that could be used to incur the wrath of the ghost or help identify its location, or both. Of course, one thing that many may want to see get included in the game is even more ghosts, which currently has 21, or some new locations. At the time of writing, there doesn’t appear to be any mention of those, but this latest tease should still be pretty exciting for fans.

Phasmophobia was released on September 18th, 2020 and is available to play on PC.
