Shooter McGavin is one of the most iconic golf villains of all time. For those who haven’t seen Happy Gilmore, McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald, is a charismatic, cocky golfer who has a short temper and becomes rivals with Happy Gilmore, who is played by Adam Sandler. McGavin earned his notorious reputation in Happy Gilmore with his over-the-top freakouts when losing to Happy Gilmore. McGavin returns to his old ways and loses his cool after performing badly against the other celebrities.

The trailer doesn’t show much gameplay, but there are PGA Tour 2K21 hands-on previews, which show gameplay in depth. What is really impressive in the trailer is the customization options seen with the celebrities’ created golfers. Schoolboy Q’s character is sporting clear aviator glasses, which he wears often outside of PGA Tour 2K21.

Although The Miz’s in-game character is not as gaudy as his usual WWE outfits, his in-game character can be seen with an extremely unconventional golf swing. The Miz also then steals Shooter McGavin’s signature celebration, which could mean that some of Shooter’s mannerisms may be included in PGA Tour 2K21.

As each celebrity is seen hitting the green and sinking putts, it is all sand bunkers and bad putts for Shooter McGavin, who yells “This isn’t real golf!” He may be right, but the graphics for PGA Tour 2K21 look very impressive and competition over online multiplayer gives players a tee-time with friends around the world. Based on who good the celebrities’ characters look, the career mode will have plenty of customization options along with unlockable clothes and equipment.

PGA Tour 2K21 is bringing back some of fans’ favorite features with deep customization, clothing and equipment branding, and the famous course creator. Unfortunately for Nintendo Switch owners, the course creator will not be available on Switch upon launch. Players will only have to wait a couple of days, because PGA Tour 2K21 comes out August 21, and then players will have a chance to hop online to compete on the world’s greatest courses, and maybe even go toe-to-toe with Shooter himself.

PGA Tour 2K21 is scheduled to release on August 21 for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One.
