Woods is listed as the betting favorite entering the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black with 10-1 odds. Defending tournament champion Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson are just behind at 11-1, and Rory McIlroy caps the top tier at 12-1 odds, via VegasInsider.com.

The second group features top international players Justin Rose and Jon Rahm and Rickie Fowler (who is still after his first major) at 20-1.

Woods has stayed away from competition since winning at Augusta to prepare for this week’s test at a course where he’s enjoyed some success during his career. He won the 2002 U.S. Open and finished tied for sixth at the 2009 U.S. Open — both on Bethpage Black. The last time he played the course, Woods battled knee pain and finished tied for 38th at The Barclays in 2012.

Among Woods’ 15 major titles, four have come at the PGA Championship with back-to-back wins in 1999 and 2000 and again in 2006 and 2007. His performance in 2018, however, is freshest in the minds of golf fans as he played a phenomenal final-round 64 at Bellerive to push Koepka and ultimately finish two strokes behind in second place.

Woods is playing the first two rounds with Koepka and Francesco Molinari. They tee off at 8:24 a.m. ET Thursday.
