Manning helped the Broncos’ offense put together a record-breaking season on their way to Super Bowl XLVIII:

— His 55 touchdown passes trumped the mark Tom Brady set in 2007 (50)

— His 5,477 passing yards was one better than what Drew Brees did in 2011

— He had nine four-TD games, breaking his own record of six in 2004.

— He had 15 two-TD and four 400-yard games, tying the accomplishments of Dan Marino in 1984.

— The Broncos had the highest-scoring season in NFL history (606 points, 76 touchdowns), surpassing what the Patriots did in 2007 (589 points, 75 TDs).

— They also threw for a single-season best 293 first downs, bettering how many the Saints converted by passing in 2011 (280)

Based on those eye-popping statistics, Manning just enjoyed the best passing regular season in NFL history. Now he will try to cap it in the playoffs, going for his second Super Bowl victory in three chances. A win over the Seattle Seahawks would put Manning closer to consideration as the best quarterback of all time.
