Pete Rose had the chance to meet MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred before Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at the Reds’ Great American Ball Park. The two plan to get together at a later date to discuss the possibility of reinstating Rose, who has been banned from the sport for the past 26 years because he bet on baseball as a manager and player. FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal tried to trip up Rose, who received a king’s welcome from the more than 43,000 fans in attendance, during an interview, asking him what he thought his chances of being a part of baseball again were. Rose handled it like a champ.

“I’m not gonna make any odds now,” Rose said, with a chuckle. “Kenny, we’re not gonna do that. Get outta there. I don’t know. If he’s a fair man, he’s willing to give someone a second chance. I’ll be the happiest guy in the world, but I understand he’s got a tough job. But I’m a good guy. I’m not the same guy as I was 29 years ago.”
