Janet Woodson Holmes, 51, Leslie Holmes, 56, Sy-eed Woodson, 18 and 7-year-old Leslie Woodson were found dead at the home on Wednesday, a Philadelphia police spokesman confirmed to Newsweek. Maurice Louis, 29, was arrested after officers found him naked in the home drinking from a bottle of vodka with a rifle on the floor, the spokesman added. Louis has been charged with four counts of criminal homicide and related offenses, the police spokesman said....

Ingenuity is attached to the belly of the Perseverance rover, which landed in Mars’ Jezero Crater on February 18. The helicopter was covered by a shield to protect the vehicle during descent and landing. But this shield has now detached from the rover, revealing the aerial vehicle. “Away goes the debris shield, and here’s our first look at the helicopter. It’s stowed sideways, folded up and locked in place, so there’s some reverse origami to do before I can set it down,” the Perseverance rover Twitter account posted....

Udvar-Hazy’s dog Willow had quite a following on Instagram when she unexpectedly died. But the account, @WanderwithWillow, is still very much active, except now Udvar-Hazy posts pictures of her pup Phoenix. Phoenix, a two-year-old wolf-dog hybrid, is Willow’s clone. Udvar-Hazy contacted the same company that famously cloned Barbra Streisand’s dog Samantha in 2018, ViaGen Pets. The Texas-based company launched in 2016 and utilizes the original pet’s cells to create an embryo which is then transferred to a surrogate mother....

The CDC announced on Tuesday that it was launching an investigation into the recent salmonella outbreak that, according to the CDC, has infected at least 44 people with salmonella. “The true number of sick people in an outbreak is likely much higher than the number reported, and the outbreak may not be limited to the states with known illnesses. This is because many people recover without medical care and are not tested for salmonella,” the CDC said....

CA’s national selection panel named 19 contracted players in addition to the Test squads on Tuesday. “Players were chosen based on their performances from July 2014 and the expectation that they will feature in the Australian Test, One-Day International and T20 sides during the forthcoming period,” a CA release said. Pacer James Pattinson was named in the contracted players list but was left out of the Test squads after picking up a left hamstring injury in a domestic game, which ensured Siddle’s entry into the Test squad....

The petition surfaced on change.org and was started by a Slovenian named Lovro Pirjevec. While we are not here to debate Pirjevec’s case, there are plenty of gamers that support the ultimate goal of the petition, which would essentially remove loot boxes from video games. Not completely mind you, but anything with a gambling attached must be rated Adults Only, and few games ever make it to market with that rating....

The petition does not mention the recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, however, and instead focuses on the January 6 Capitol insurrection. “Recently, Justice Clarence Thomas voted against a Supreme Court decision to compel the release of Donald Trump’s records regarding the January 6 insurrection and attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election,” the petition said. “It has become clear that his wife—longtime conservative activist Ginni Thomas—was actively urging the White House to overturn election results both leading up to January 6 and after the deadly insurrection....

The petition was set up in mid-June by Michael Starr Hopkins amid growing calls to remove or rename monuments and other symbols in the U.S. honoring Confederate leaders. The bridge, which was the scene of the Bloody Sunday civil rights march, is named after Edmund Pettus, a former soldier in the Confederate Army who also served as a grand dragon in the Ku Klux Klan. “Edmund Pettus was a bitter racist, undeserving of the honor bestowed upon him,” Hopkins writes on the change....

Although the change.org petition urging the far-right group to be declared a terrorist organization was created around three months ago, it has gained more than 200,000 signatures since their members were seen at Washington D.C. on January 6 in what the petition describes as an attempted coup. The petition titled “Declare the ‘Proud Boys’ a Terrorist Organization” has now been signed by more than 404,000 people. “Following the pathetic, yet deeply disturbing coup attempt at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 by alt-right extremists to include the Proud Boys, newly formed Proud Girls and QAnon, our mission to get these groups declared terrorist organizations is more timely than it ever has been,” a description of the change....

The Browns called the receiver’s number as part of a double-reverse trick play in Week 8 against the Bengals. After getting the ball from Nick Chubb, he was supposed to look down the field and pass the ball to catch Cincinnati’s defense off-guard. But the Bengals were ready for the trick play.
